I once read a wonderful book. When I finished I felt a sense of loss, a real hunger for more of the story, not a better understanding of the story I'd already read, but more of it. However, I did not want to read the book over again. I already knew the story.
I've read another book. When I stop, I feel a real hunger for more, a better understanding, another little nugget to prod my mind, to inspire me to better things, more on which to build my life, something to hide in my mind and heart. In this book there's always another little nugget to dig out and each one sends me hunting for another. It seems that each time I find the answer to one question, within the same portion, another question is created. It's a wonderful journey, reading this book, from creation to life everlasting. I could read this book a hundred times and still read it again. It's a history book, a book of literature, poetry, action, war, love, hate, birth, death, mystery, and most other genre combined into one. This book has topped the bestseller list many times; it's the Holy Bible, God's word.
Today, I encountered the question; "What does the bible mean to you?" To me it means life itself, for without it and the wonderful story it tells, I cannot imagine a life. It means that God has, has had, and will keep having a plan for my life and yours. It means that any problem I might encounter, I can find the answer in this wonderful book. No matter how well I know a portion of this book, there's always a little more to the story and no matter how much I write, I could never tell you what the Bible means to me.......................................................................
